TORONTO - October 11, 2023 - PaceZero Capital Partners Ltd. (“PaceZero”) announced today that it has provided a $2 million working capital facility to SWTCH Energy Inc. (“SWTCH”).
Founded in 2016, SWTCH provides electric vehicle charging and energy management solutions designed specifically for high-density urban settings, primarily multifamily buildings. SWTCH has operations in both Canada and the United States and differentiates itself through its proprietary energy management platform that integrates into existing industrial utility systems to optimize energy usage within the building's energy infrastructure.
“SWTCH is building out the backbone infrastructure necessary for wider EV adoption,” said Jordan Peckham, CEO and founder of PaceZero. “The SWTCH team has a strong track record of execution; we are excited to partner with them and support SWTCH’s continued expansion and market leadership.”
“We are excited to be working with PaceZero because they share the same sustainability-focused objectives as SWTCH,” said Carter Li, CEO and co-founder of SWTCH. “Jordan and the PaceZero team’s commitment to positive social and environmental outcomes makes us natural long-term financial partners in enabling the electrification of transportation in multi-tenant settings.”
With a growing demand for charging stations from consumers living in urban areas, SWTCH works with real estate developers and property management companies to ease the accessibility and convenience of finding an EV charger. Since its inception, SWTCH has deployed over 7,500 chargers and aims to have over 10,000 by the end of 2023.
